CORDURA® Truelock™ Fabric

Featuring CORDURA® Truelock™ fiber, this high-performance fabric provides the advantages of solution-dyed nylon:

Titan X™ and Titan XL™

Providing optimal durability and tear resistance, our Titan X™ and Titan XL™ nylon laminate fabrics are 500-denier solution-dyed CORDURA® nylon. They consist of bright high-tenacity nylon 6,6 air-textured multifilament yarn in a plain weave with multiple color options. Titan X™ material is laminated to 500 denier. It’s lighter than the XL alternative at 17 to 18 oz/yd2 and has a lower price. Titan XL™ fabric is laminated to 1000 denier and weighs in at 21 to 24 oz/yd2. Both options are well suited to commercial applications, but Titan XL™ is also applicable for U.S. military projects.

CORDURA® Truelock™ fabric is manufactured in America at our ISO 9001:2015-certified facility using Mil-Spec nylon, and it adheres to the regulations established in the Berry Amendment. CORDURA® Truelock™ Fabric: Specifications

CORDURA® Truelock™ is a high-tenacity nylon 6,6 multifilament fiber that provides a wide array of benefits for law enforcement, military, and other applications, including:

  • Excellent color fastness
  • Long-lasting color vibrancy
  • Color retention after washing or UV exposure
  • UV-fade resistance
  • Enhanced UV strength stability
  • Inherently low NIR reflectance
  • Abrasion resistance

The color consistency of this fabric plays a crucial role in matching the elastic, webbing, cordage, trims, and other materials to establish uniformity between gear and garments.

The color penetrates the entire fiber structure, allowing for multi-component and dye lot-to-dye lot consistency. The manufacturing process provides a deep, lasting color by locking it in during the molten polymer extrusion level. With a matte appearance, the enhanced color resists “frosting” during extreme abrasion testing. The innovative material also has superior tensile and tear strength.

Compared to traditional piece-dyed materials, the process for achieving a dark, vibrant color in CORDURA® Truelock™ material emits few greenhouse gases, uses less energy and water, and provides a sustainable solution for creating a durable fabric.
